Shamim Mahomed

Business Development (including tax planning)

Shamim qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 1990 and started SKM Chartered Accountants in 1996, after being a casualty in the downsizing of Pomfrets. She served as the President of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants in 2004 and works as a Non-Executive Director of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Shamim’s vision for SKM is to help all her clients become debt-free and she advises her clients on opportunities to develop their business and incomes tax-efficiently. She believes in having a work-life balance and valuing your health before it’s too late.

Shamim is an avid reader and enjoys cycling and spending time with her family and friends.

Ilaxee Patel

Payroll Manager

Ilaxee joined the team at SKM in 1999 with a degree in Commerce from India. Since, then she qualified as an Accounting Technician (AAT).

Initially, Ilaxee was involved in the preparation of Accounts and VAT, but since 2008 has been primarily working in the Payroll Department and deals with all aspects of Payroll.

Ilaxee also deals with the credit control and customer service of SKM. As part of her role, she oversees and directs the Admin Department.

Aqeela Darwen

Accounts and VAT

Aqeela joined the team at SKM in 2012 with a degree in Financial Accounting from the University Of Cape Town, South Africa. She has since gone on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).

Aqeela’s role at SKM involves assisting with VAT Preparation, Book-Keeping and the preparation of accounts for Limited companies and Sole Traders. As part of her VAT Role, she visits clients to assist them with their VAT and deals with the filing and submission of the VAT Returns prepared.

Hetal Maru

Payroll, Self Assessment, Company Secretarial

Hetal joined the team at SKM in 2008 as a Receptionist and to be of personal assistance to Shamim.

Hetal deals with admin related work regarding SKM and also our clients through our Company Secretarial Service. She provides assistance to Ilaxee in payroll.

She is also a helping hand to everyone in the office. Hetal will often be your first point of contact either personally or on the telephone.

Harsha Patel

Self Assessment, Company Secretarial, Administration

Harsha joined the team at SKM in 2014 as a part time Receptionist and to be of personal assistance to Shamim.

Harsha deals with all admin related work and also provides Company Secretarial services alongside Hetal.
